Another new year, another few months between posts. It’s all good. Since my last post life has changed quite dramasticly. I quit my job as service coordinator and just after Christmas started a new one. I got my first paycheck from them and almost danced around the house giddily.  I settled for jumping up and down in the chair while clapping. The plants in the window continue to grow, the anvil stays in the craft room, and the cat continues to act as if we are starving her. *Chuckles* Christmas was quite nice. I invited my parents and his mom and step dad over for dinner, I made a nice turkey with stuffing and mashed potatoes and some extra delicious honey glazed root veggies on Christmas Eve. We saw his dad and step mom in the morning as they were having an open house dinner thing in the afternoon and I had already commited to making a turkey. It was all good. They gave us a vaccuum cleaner, and I know I’m going to sound like I have no life but seriously… That vaccuum is made of awesome. We opened our gifts after the families had left, I didn’t really know what to get him so I erred on the side of safe and got him some new clothes and some leather working tools. He bought me reading books, crafting books, and crafting materials. I’m actually quite excited to start using them.

Christmas day was the all day tradition at his Grandmothers. She also makes really really good food. (Note to self: NEVER make a 30 pound turkey. My god was that thing huge. I thought it was bad enough with the 12 pound one I had. The freezer is filled with turkey soup. Can barely fit anything else in there.) And there we did a gift exchange thing. This year it was supposed to be general gifts but most of the gifts ended up being alcohol anyways. *Laughs* I made rumballs and put them in a container I had made at doll class one year. Grandma doesn’t like rum balls really but wanted the container so she stole it from one of the others. It was all great fun. Played some games with the cousins and chatted with everyone else, went and saw a movie to pass the time. It was the Chronicles of Narnia, it was okay, I figure if I had a child with me it would have been cooler but it definately felt like I had been in the theatre for the two hours it had played.

Boxing day was rather uneventful, we went and got some more cards for a game we both like called Munchkin. came home, organized everything and cleaned again for our friends who were coming over for left over dinner. We ate, drank, played more munchkin and then watched Hell Boy 2. We went to bed after that as the friends that were staying over had to go to work and I also had to start my new job the next day.

Work was quite uneventful for me that week. As my training lasts for four weeks and mostly people were moving out instead of moving in, there wasn’t much for me to do. I can only learn so much by listening without doing. But as it is the end of my second week already, I’ve been put on the computer system, have actually helped customers, and have surprised both my trainer and the DM’s a little with all the information I’ve retained. I like it as I think of this new job as a challenge, both to learn all the information and being able to help people with what they need.

New Years… Ahh, New Years, I shall think of it forever as my new favorite day (Besides my birthday of course). We had started off by telling our friends we were going to come over for the New Years party but as it drew closer all I could think about was staying home with my man and celebrating our first New Years in our own home. But because we had told them we would go and they were looking forward to us being there we went. I had to work that day so I wasn’t off until six. Luckily for me New Years doesn’t really start until 12 so I had plenty of time after work to get ready and for us to get to Chilliwack. He wasn’t doing anything that day because well there wasn’t anything for him to do at work. When I asked him what he was going to do all day he said oh I dunno do some running around maybe. That’s when I left him to go to work. (I thought he was just going to be lazy all day) Several hours later he pops by unexpectedly while I’m at work just to say hi, give me a kiss, and then leave. I thought it was a little odd but then again I wasn’t going to question it incase he never does it again *laughs*. Work ends, I’m closing up while my trainer finishes the paperwork and I call my man to tell him I’m on my way. He says he’s in the parking lot waiting for me. We drive home, I shower, change, and get all gussied up for the party while he goes and picks up a friend who is also coming out with us. We get to the party and we drink, laugh, chat, eat good nibblies and have a grand old time. one minute to midnight and the TV goes on with the CTV countdown, He comes and grabs me, I’m thinking it’s for the traditional new years kiss, 10-9-8-7, all of a sudden I can feel his heart beating like he’s just run a marathon, I look at him, 6-5-4-3-2-1, we kiss, I feel one of his hands reaching into his pocket and coming up between us, both he and I look down, it’s a little box, I ask him “what is that?” He opens the box… Inside is the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. He looks at me with this loving, hopeful gleam in his eye and all I can do is laugh and nod. We kissed, we laughed, we hugged. Everyone else around us thought we were just being silly, he put the ring on my finger and I had to laugh or else I would have started crying. *Chuckles* I asked him if I could go tell everyone and within five minutes there were hugs and congradulations surrounding us. The absolutely gorgeous woman who was hosting the party had gotten married almost two years earlier, she disappeared for a few moments and came back with a wedding planner. *Chuckles* almost immediately people were asking us when we were going to get married. We still don’t know *laughs*

I found out afterwards that his little bit of running around to do was go to North Van. to the celtic shop I love so much and pick out a ring. That time when he stopped at my work to give me a kiss he was on his way to see his Mom to tell her, and then head off to my parents to ask their permission. He then had enough time to get home, shower, shave, get ready and then come pick me up.

New Years day we came home and got ready for the evening, went to my grandma’s to fix her computer and tell her the good news, then we went to my parents and they were all happy and much hugs all around. Dinner was a fondu like affair. A perfect last indugence to the holiday season. All his family passed around hugs, engagement stories, and “It’s about time”‘s. January 2nd we pretty much spent the day hashing out ideas and things we would like for our wedding. How long we would like to wait and save up and spend. That kind of thing. We then went to his Dad’s place for dinner, let his Dad and Step Mom know. More hugs and congradulations and planning. All in all it was a most fantastic holiday season.

It may not have been filled with lots of presents or money, but it was perfect for me. Family, friends, love and laughter, what else could anyone ask for?

And I think this is where I’m going to leave you for now… I shall try to keep you all updated on my Wedding and life plans as I go.

Here I am once again, months from the last time I posted. In the time since my last post I have taken courses at University, been “Promoted” to Service Coordinator at work, and moved in with my man. *Smiles* We’ve been here for almost three months now and I still get the giggles when I say it’s my house. My friends that came to Canada from Germany have left and I feel quite sad that we didn’t spend more time together. Though we were all had different things happening on in our lives so I’m not that surprised. I’ve adopted my one friends plants, they look quite nice in my window sill. I’m thinking about starting a garden. There’s a community garden just behind my house and it says new members welcome… I think some raspberry plants and strawberry plants and quite possibly some herbs are in order… I’m going to try something new. My Lady from the EMP got this from her councellor and I thought I’d give it a try.

Day one:

Appreciations: Boyfriend cuddles, Trips to Fabricland, Trying new recipes, Boyfriends rescuing fabric from sergers, Kitty cuddles

Wishes, hopes and dreams: Banking, Financial security, Job closer to home, Bring the last of my stuff home

New Information: Buy meat from Pricemart or from the butchers. The meat is fresh and looks better. Also Price mart has some amazing prices.

Again it’s been quite a while since I was last here. Can’t even remember what was going on during my last post. *chuckles* Well again my life has changed, I’m now dating my best friend. I have to admit, it was much easier slipping into the whole boyfriend/girlfriend role than I thought it would be. I guess all the guys I’ve dated the last year were my way of hiding from the feelings I feel for him. I was always extremely concious of conversations about the guys I was dating around him. Whenever I brought a guy to fight practice I’d be embarrassed which I shouldn’t have ever been but *Shrugs* Oh well… Everything feels as if it’s falling into place now. Which is nice. I start my German course at University next week. Work is blah. Lots of idiocy going on with some of my co workers and I really hate that but I guess it goes on with pretty much anywhere you go. Unless of course you work for yourself and then the only bull poop that goes on is the stuff you start with yourself. XD Oh well… Birthday is in a few days and I’m going to spend the time with my friends and family. Anyways I should be off to bed.

Lots of new things. I actually forgot for a while about this blog but I figure now is a good time to update. Day off and all. So life update it is. New guy from November and I broke up. He fed me some line about if he put an effort into relationships it always blew up in his face… I of course refrained from blowing up in his face, it was hard :P Can’t you tell? After that I got into school and I focused on that. I managed to squeeze out a B+ in math and a B- in English. I was actually quite amazed with myself there… Part of me didn’t think I’d do as well in math as I did. I guess I should start believing in myself more then eh? *nods* thought so. Work has been meh lately. New people are being hired so I’m getting more days off than usual. Oh well. It gives me time to clean up and get things ready for when my friends arrive from out of country next month. I’m really excited to see them. It’s been a year. It doesn’t feel like it’s been a year but according to the calendar it has been. In other news I met yet another new guy. He’s pretty interesting… not too sure yet, we’ve only been out twice. I can see myself however becoming frustrated with his constant griping about not paying for things. I can understand where he’s coming from though. We’ll see. Anyways. I watched a few movies last night. One of which was the new Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, or as bad as all the reviews seem to have made it. I could have done with more gadgets but what they had seemed to be cool. And then of course I watched Ironman again. *giggles* I love that movie. Robert Downy Jr has a very pert bum… When it’s in the Iron pants… XD Not that I was looking or anything… I wouldn’t do such a thing. ANYways.. I should probably head off and get some more work done down here.

It’s been a while. *laughs* I’ve found a guy I like and who likes me and well wants to see me more than once a week. Huzza! We’ve been seeing each other for just about a month and it feels like it’s been longer. I met his friend and his friends girlfriend and I really like them. They seem like good people anyways. *laughs* So I feel like I’ve upgraded in life. New boyfriend who’s really sweet, has a pretty good sense of Humour (I only say pretty good because it matches mine and sometimes mine can be downright horrible *laughs*) Has life goals he’s sticking to and is supportive in my goals. And he works full time in a field he enjoys though some of his co workers are useless. (Well what he tells me one is anyways) I upgraded my phone. I’m probably going to get frustrated with it pretty soon but meh. It’s all good. Just as long as it doesn’t disconnect from the network randomly I’m alright with it. I’m registering for my courses next week so I’ll be upgrading my knowledge on all things french and math (At a beginners level of course) so that I may upgrade my education level to that of a BA… Hopefully one day I’ll find the right field that I want to work in so that I can upgrade from Sales Associate to _______ *nods* I’d really like that. I don’t mind retail. But for me it is not a career. It’s a job for me to do so I can move on up. :D! So I guess what I’m really getting at is I think it’s a good thing whathisface and I broke up. Else I would have never met my new guy and I wouldn’t really be working as hard as I am to move on up in life. Yay for becoming fully goal orientated!!

On other news, I had a lovely visit with my nephew. He’s such a sweetie! And cute too. I’m going to spoil that poor boy so much. But it’s okay. I’m the Aunt I’m allowed to *laughs* I’d say he’s the cutest baby in the world but I’m actually saving that for my own children. So I’m going to have to say he’s the cutest nephew in the world. *nods* sounds good.

Anyways I have to head off. Fight practice tonight. I’m going to fight our teacher today with the boffers. Yay!

Things have been going well so far. I’ve decided that my ex shall no longer encompass my life and that I’m going to find someone new who’ll like me for who I am, not be ashamed of taking me out to be with his friends, and who’ll generally be nice to me and like my family. And so on that note. I met someone. I’m not sure what to say about him. He’s sweet, he loves to laugh and can laugh at pretty much anything, though he does have his serious side. Mind you I’ve only seen him twice so there was more laughter than seriousness. Which I liked. On our first night out we spent hours talking. We did have dinner and a few drinks but what I liked the most was we talked. And had I not had to go to work the next morning we probably would have stayed out longer. Just a little. The second night we went out we went swimming. I haven’t been swimming in a pool for ages so it was actually a really great night. Then we went and watched a movie… Doomsday. It was okay. I was hoping there would be more boom than dramarama… I mean if you’re going to write a movie like that there should be lots of exploding things… Oh well… Here’s to hoping that I see him again!

Work is going well. It seems to be getting really really busy over the weekends with kids back in school and parents having to concentrate on them during the week. Though I do hope that it doesn’t get crazy busy like it did on Saturday. There’s a new promotion going on. I’m not looking forwards to it because it’s now an open to the public promotion *Sigh* There will be hell with this promotion when people decide to return things. Oh well… Anyways I’d best be getting ready for work. Who knows… It might actually get busy tonight. (HA!)

I’m home now. Have been for about two months and it feels like forever since I’ve been in Ireland. I really came to think of that place as home. I have to say I had the most amazing time there in Ireland and I wish I could have stayed longer. I didn’t see much, mind you I didn’t really think that the year would go by as quickly as it did. I did go to Galway and Cork. Saw some pretty amazing sites, met some really great people, made some amazing friends, whom I hope to see next year here in Canada. Had a pretty good job at a book store, lived smack dab in the middle of the city. And I think that my only regret is that I didn’t see more of the country. But I’m still young so I have many years ahead of me to go back and see the rest. My personal home life suffered a bit, my parents missed me, my brother spawned, and I broke up with my man, my friends all started really great careers and are making life plans for themselves. Unfortunately, I don’t feel like I’m home, or that I’m settled. I feel like I’m waiting to go out on a bigger adventure. I feel like I’m at the bus stop waiting for that one bus while everyone else has hopped on theirs and are heading to their destinations (If that makes any sense) and I don’t know what to do. I’ve promised my father that I’d stay and try to go to post secondary. But I don’t know how long I’ll be able to stick to it. I want to be with someone but I don’t know if my heart can take a short term dealy or if I’ll be able to settle down for a long term dealy. I see children and I want them and then two seconds later I realize I don’t have the patience for them. I bought a bike to take myself to work but I don’t know how long it’s going to be before I’m biking off towards the mountains to see if I can escape. Even though I don’t know what I’m escaping. I’m procrastinating on getting my licence because that just leads to cars and if I get a car I’m gone across the country and then maybe heading on south to see how far I can go. Anyways. This is turning into a pity party and that’s not why you read this… I hope. So on the bright side, I’ve still got all my friends and we enjoy each others company pretty much on a weekly basis, we went camping a few weeks after I got back which was nice. I got a job which pays me pretty well and the people I work with are nice. And even though some make me feel like I’m not wanted, there are still people here that want me and a few others on the horizon I’ve yet to meet that will most likely want me. I’m alive, I’ve got money, music and love so I think I’m doing pretty well for myself. I’ll do a more thourough recap of Ireland at a later date.

It’s been a while. I haven’t really done much lately. I’ve been working everday and then shopping for food or cleaning. I did some baking yesterday and I discovered that I over knead and I put too much nutmeg in my cinnamon buns. and before you say ‘why nutmeng?’ I shall say that in my experimentations nutmeg goes quite well with cinnamon and brown sugar. I just shouldn’t use a lot of it. Plans to quit my current job are going slowly. Everyone is hiring and they all want retail experience but they haven’t looked at any of the cv’s so today when I dressed up all smart and went out and asked if they had seen my cv’s they all said nope not looking at them for at least another week, one of them was I’m not going to look at them for at least 4 weeks. *Sigh* Not quite sure the job at Crests and Arms will last that long. I just need to work this weekend and a little into September to  get rent for the next little while and then I’ll sort of relax on the the working thing and run full force into the job getting area.

So I’ve figured out  what I want to do when i get home. I’m going to go into spa therapy and esthetics. One day I hope to open my own sort of small day spa. I know there are some places I won’t be able to compete against but it would be nice. have a manicure pedicure maybe salon in the front and in the back the massage/ beautification area. *Shrugs* First I’ll concentrate on getting my schooling and job and then look into opening a business and seeing what kind of licences I’ll need and permits I’ll have to have. I guess I could look at all that now and then make sort of a business plan for myself and then once I get into school and such see where I could make my first steps. I know it’ll take me a lot of time and effort and it’s not something I can just dump in the middle of, this thought of owning my own business sort of happened while I was working a few weeks ago… and If I can’t do it well then I’ll just have to hope that I can make myself known in the spa therapy area’s. *Shrugs*

Anyways. it was a really really sunny day today. I was actually surprised at how  sunny it was, so after I did my job things today I got changed into something light and airy and I sat in St Stephens Green and read a book. I sat on a blanket under a tree in the shade. sort of. I may or may not have wiggled into the sun when the wind came along… My back is a wee bit red… heh… just a little… didn’t notice it until I got home and tied up my hair. meh… One day I’ll learn. not much else to say now…

Not much to blog about now… I’m just working and trying to make it worthwhile. Sometimes I think that I’m not getting paid enough so I have a feeling I’m going to ask my boss for a raise. And I’m sure he’ll give it to me. I mean I’m hauling in the dough while he’s not there so it’s not like he’s not making enough. And talking about hauling in the dough, I was about to close today and Mr. Hi-I’m-Mike-And-I’m-Drunk came in and dropped almost 400Euro on Scrolls, coasters, and bottle openers, and tomorrow he’s coming back to get some more tomorrow. He couldn’t remember half the names he needed. Whoo. Money. The only bad thing was he paid in mastercard so Boss man still owes me some money. I’ll get him tomorrow. Anyways that’s about it.

I went and did a follow up today and I ended up getting a job. And 50 euro in my pocket. So I get paid basically 10 euro an hour 5 hours a week day and all day weekends. And then for two weeks around the end of july beginning of August I get to be in with the other guy. and well… I might be working full days then too… So I get money. I think once a week. I do have the option of working commision but I’m not so sure just yet. Anyways… thars my news.
